Its been a long time coming, and actually been live for about a week, but I having some photog friends put the finishing touches.. ahem .. critiques on it!!

its all ready to go and I hope you find it informative, easy to navigate and full of beautiful images!

I can't believe we are in to a new decade! WOW!!

Last year was full of so many special times for our family, with the highlight being the arrival of our precious Beckham Augustine. I hope your family experienced some treasured moments as well.. no doubt they are constantly occurring. That is what life is all about right? Finding the joy in spending times with loved ones... and I am so excited to be able to capture and freeze some of that time thru my art.

As you can see I have changed up my look to the ol' blog. I have been working on some fun things to unveil with my business and this is one of them. I big shout out to my sweet friend Kristina for using her talent to give me a super cute look!

I can't wait to share with you my brand new website! Been working on it for awhile now, and its just about finished! Check back here often to see when it is launched!

My business had amazing success in 2009, and much of that is thanks to all of the fantastic support that I have had from all of you ! Sessions are already booked for this month, so if you are thinking about booking something, contact me soon!

so I think I say this every time, I post.. but seriously.. I *LOVE* my job. well.. we all know that my first (full -time) job is being at home with my 3 littles.. but when I get the chance.. and lately it has been quite frequently, I have the privilege of capturing the beauty in families. is this family full of it or what? Beauty that is !!!
I was thrilled to be able to take pictures of my college roommate's family. It had been a couple of years since I had seen her little ones and they are just so stinkin cute!

I'd say Dad is going to have a hard time when that first boy comes a callin'... say when Miss H is around 30??

Everyone was so photogenic, and they were such troopers as it was FREEZING during our session. You can't tell the kids were shivering can you?

and then I bribed them with candy, towards the end of the session. LOL

Here is just one, b/c I have so very many more to go thru and edit...

and then mom pulled out the hats. Oh. My. Word.

I'll have to share some more from this session. and a funny story too...

It was so fun hanging out and eating the (terrible, in my husband's words) food at lunch! I actually quite enjoyed my candy shoppe lunch and I KNOW the kids all loved their special treats!

I absolutely lOVE the color scheme they showed up. So perfect for the end of fall colors.
what we didn't find still on the trees, we made up for on the ground. This family was so much fun to play with.

always like to get one of mama and child... this is just so sweet. I've got a couple more too, that show that tender bond between the two of you =)

and Mr. J... soon to be a senior... looking forward to your own session this spring!

these children were so much fun to photograph. the boy was well, being a boy, finding all kinds of sticks to use as swords and wanting to climb every tree in sight. his little sister always smiled like a princess and was showering him with hugs and kisses.

I absolutely LOVE this picture (above).. would totally blow it up big. I love how big brother is protecting her in such a loving way. again.. why I love my job.. I get to *see* this kinda thing happening all the time!!

and the littlest of the three... so adorable with her little dimples. At 10 months old, she was wanting to be on the move.. so I caught lots of candid "action" shots of her... lol. Once I placed her in this basket, she was so content and all smiles! mom, there are lots more of this cute pie.

and here is one, that just speaks to the heart. While I got some of mom and her kids, this is special b/c we pulled in Grandma into a couple of shots. Here she is with her darling daughter and her grandchildren.
and so while I will always try and get a few 'formal' , everybody looking at the camera, kind of shots... I still love the candids best.. the ones like this where you can just "get a little more" out of the picture. Like see the little guy's twinkle? yeah... he is up to something... and the baby shows she is at that curious stage..

I so much fun with this family. They were a referral and I am super glad that I got to meet them and capture the love they share for one another. I can hardly call what I do work.. lol

because I absolutely *love* taking pictures and meeting new people! I am so privileged to be able to witness the interactions that go on within a family. seriously.. look at this mom and dad.. So CUTE!!

you can see where the two little ones get it from. Maybe we can set up a special time for Miss M to have her 2 yr old pictures taken. ..=)

this is about the age (2 months) that I looked at my own Tatum, and thought she looked like a living doll. This guy is the absolute sweetest!! I love those BIG beautiful eyes!

The mom here was a old(yes, I can say old, when you've been out as long as we have! LOL) high school friend of mine. She had seen my work on Facebook, and I was thrilled when she asked me to take her family pictures. It had been many , many years, and it was so fun to see meet her adorable little family. These two special boys are true blessings to their family. this baby of hers... gosh.. I could just eat him up!! LOL...
I love seeing moms love on their babes...

and am I right people? he is like a living doll. so, so cute!

and this is big brother.. Mr. M.. who is all of two....

this may be strange to some of you.. but I just love the emotion that is jumping off of this image. its totally a picture of their little family.. the two year old has a look of questioning, confusion, hmmm.. isn't that what 2 yr olds are all about?, and the little guy.. just those blank stares as they take in the world around them.. and then mom and dad.. grinning from ear to ear because of the joy that these little boys bring them.... the time in their lives captured in a single shot!

this itty bitty 13 day old sweetie pie only slept for about 2.5 seconds during our session! While I don't mind at all when babies fuss... I am super glad that this one was, and that I caught her mama trying to calm her down with a quiet 'shhhhhh'.. LOVE IT!!!

she was fighting going to sleep for awhile. Thanks for your patience C, and your willingness to try out new poses, even if little Miss G had other ideas. We'll get her next time =)

and these beautiful big eyes, just like her big brother and sister could just melt you!!

I had a blast taking pictures of this sweet little girl. and yes, she was itty bitty. unfortunately she was a little to big to try out my newest fall prop.. oh well, thanks for letting my try it out!!

This tiny one's mama is a friend from college, and I was super excited to get to be able to capture these precious moments of her first child. It will go by fast, so I am so happy that we got all these tiny parts. I have a collage for you too =)

when she told me what the color scheme/ outfit theme was going to be.. I just knew downtown would be an awesome backdrop for this session. Great choosing mom!

and these kids have the BEST personalities... I asked for silly... and I got silly....

I am just guessing that there is not a lot of quiet in this household.

if my sessions with these kiddos are any indication of what life is like..I'd say it is full of laughter!
This gave me a glimpse as to what life will be like in a few years, with my own Tatum in the middle of two brothers. so FUN! !

a gem for my camera.... these are two of the sweetest , mild manored kids I have photographed in awhile.... or maybe its just because their mama bribed them with ice cream? LOL

love the interaction between this mom and her babes. It is such a treat for me to capture these tender moments during a session..

And even with the solemn faces... this one just is filled with so much emotion.. LOVE it!!

would you look at these handsome guys? they have two adorable sisters too, but we just had a 'boys' session this time. The little one is on the move, not wanting to stay put for long..

Big brother is all proud.. and little brother , is like, ok, I have been still for 2 seconds and this is no fun!! LOL... so all the kids look so much a like, yet all grow into having their own unique bit to them too. I am curious who little man will favor as he continues to grow.....

these kids are so stinkin cute. and fun. this was part 1 of their family session. I got to take their pictures last fall too, and it is amazing to see how each child has grown.. has an even more emerging personality. seriously, so fun. so this was park setting... au casual..... love that shot... love sister's expression...

and this one couldn't have been planned more perfectly.. except THIS one wasn't.. lol

( I think it needs to be blown up kinda big)

and out of the three.. she knew what to do.. and definitely LOVED the camera.. (at least for a little while.. )

I always *love* the interaction that goes on during a family session. I am privileged to witness the smiles, the squabbles, and the sweet glances exchanged amongst the family members.. and this time spent with the B family was no exception. my first born babe, is off to school!Here is Mr. B on his first day of kindergarten.

I have to say, I was a bit nervous for him to ride the bus, but I knew that I would be only holding him back, if I put my insecurities ahead of what could be a great experience for him.

I should have known, he would love it.

And as far as school... he was born for it! My little man has always been eager to learn. In fact at his recent birthday party, he spent more time with the 1st grade reader books and the doodle pads ,than he did the other toys he received as gifts!

I know he is going to do GREAT! I am not a cryer, so I wasn't expecting that I would be sobbing at the bus stop. However, I did find myself missing the extra energy usually found around our house. It is going to be quiet during the days from now on.

After the first day, I have realized that I can get quite used to the peace and quiet. I know that he is in good hands and that God will protect him. I also believe that he will be having a blast each day as he learns new things and makes new friendships.

So far his, favorite thing is lunch.. LOL

I am looking forward to the extra special time that I can spend with my two younger babes.
(and spend on my photography =)

I was just playing around with some new props I got, so I through up a backdrop(wrinkled, yes, I know.. just don't look at that! =) and let my sweet girl charm the camera. I could be biased, but I think she did a great job!!

As Spring has officially arrived, bits of color are popping up out of the ground and on the limbs of trees, making me giddy as I can hardly wait to get outside with my camera. God's natural landscape makes a spectacular backdrop for photos. We are closely approaching some special holidays which you may want to capture the moments and freeze them in time.

You could say I have always had a passion for taking pictures...and it all started with my little pink Le Click camera years ago! While I have bettered my equipment, and honed up my skills, my obsession with making time stand still with a click of a button has not changed. I love having the opportunity to turn moments into memories from behind the lens. I enjoy a laid back approach to taking pictures, and love to just hang out and capture those moments that come naturally. You won't find me in a studio with fancy equipment, instead, I prefer natural light,and comfortable surroundings with which to play. These are the moments that make up a lifetime, moments to always cherish. I look forward to capturing those memorable moments for your family! 2009 Information

Sitting Fee $25.00

I will spend 1-3 yours with you per session. This includes time at your home or a nearby location of your choice. I have some fabulous spots in mind, if traveling a short distance is comfortable for you. Payment is due upon completion of photo session.

Ordering

I will have edited proofs of your session available to you in 10-14 days. Proofs may be viewed online at ellemiphotographyproofs.blogspot.com. Images will be done in color, and enhanced or converted to B/W, if I feel it fits the picture.

Prints may be ordered for up to one year from session date and from any session.

Orders may be sold with either a luster or glossy finish, however luster is advised in most cases.

Finishes can not be combined and separate orders must be placed, if desired.

Payment must be received at time of order. Some allowances may be made. Contact me to make arrangements.

There is no charge for converting the pictures to black/white, sepia tone, vintage, or 'faded' color.

Prints will be available 2-3 weeks from final order placement*

*(Due to outsourcing to a high quality professional printer, some circumstances could arise that are out of my control which could delay your order)

There is a $6 shipping charge for all standard orders.

Maternity/Newborn Session

This is the time to capture the miracle happening in your life. At any point in your pregnancy, you may book a session. If you wish to have a 'miracle in progress', captured, you may choose between 2 different maternity sessions for a one time sitting fee of $30. OR your may wish to have one maternity session, followed by a newborn session(within your baby's first 2-3 weeks is best) for a one time sitting fee of $40. Payment is due at the first session .

"Watch Me Grow" Baby Plan

There will be a one time sitting fee of $45 due at the first session. Sessions include three, six, nine, and twelve month photo shoots. (1) One 5x7 and (1) one set of wallets (8) will be included for each session.

Memory Keeper Savings Plan

This is a great option, for those who wish to keep up with the ever changing times in your family's lives. Children grow so much in such a short time; you'll want to capture those changes and special times with several sessions throughout the year. For a one time sitting fee of $45, you may have up to four sessions during a one year period. Fee must be paid during first session.

Things To Remember

Setting your appointment- Please contact me at least two weeks before your desired date for your photo session.

Once we agree on a date, time, and location, we can discuss any certain requests you have regarding types of images you would like for me to achieve. Your sitting fee allows for 1-3 hours of my time, but things will go more smoothly, if you have props and change of clothes nearby.

Babies and Children- These wee ones, are special indeed, and I want to capture them at their best! When scheduling for a child's session, please consider their naps and meal times. Children do best with full bellies and rested bodies. During a newborn session, we can certainly take some time if needed to nurse a baby or cuddle them back to sleep. As a mom, I understand a child's moods, needs, and attention spans. You may want to bring along a favorite toy, snack or drink. If necessary, we can take a small break during your session.

Cancelling a Session- If you need to cancel, please call me within 2-3 hours prior to your session.

What to Wear- Dress comfortably for your session. For group sessions, coordinating colors work best, rather than 'matchy' outfits. Bright colors in solids or stripes photograph great for individuals! Darker colors such as khaki, and denim blue also show well. Unless it speaks directly to the personality of the person or scene, try to avoid clothing with characters and logos. They tend to be distracting.

Model Release Form- This is a binding agreement between yourself and Elle Mi Photography regarding the use of any or all photographs for marketing uses both in print and on the web.

Copy Right Release- Please respect the time and talent of Elle Mi Photography, and do not in anyway, duplicate any online or print image. Upon payment and written consent, you may obtain a copy right release form.

I really had a lot of fun with this family. It was hard to capture this energetic little guy, but I think what I was able to get, shows his on -the- go personality at two. His sweet 4 month old sister was a camera magnet.
